Abstract Submission

The 50th SBNWM 2026 symposium will include technical sessions with invited and contributed talks and a poster session.

The organizers invite researchers and experts from academia, industry, and government to submit abstracts on a wide range of topics. These topics include, but are not limited to:

  • National and international waste management programs
  • Design, operation, requirements, and licensing of geological repositories
  • Safeguards concepts development and enhancement and nuclear forensics
  • Innovations in nuclear waste forms development and corrosion testing
  • Mathematical modeling and analysis tools for performance assessment
  • Advancements in nuclear waste processing technologies
  • Waste treatment for radiopharmaceutical wastes
  • Behavior of spent nuclear fuel materials in different disposal environments
  • Radionuclide solubility, speciation, sorption, and migration at the geological repository
  • Off-gas management in nuclear power plant and reprocessing facilities
  • Sensing and monitoring of radionuclides
  • Advanced materials for nuclear fission and fusion energy systems
  • Recent developments and novel techniques in solid and liquid characterization
  • Management of severe accidents

Abstract Submission Guidelines

Authors are requested to submit presentation abstracts that are relevant to the conference topics.

You will need to have the following information in order to complete your submission:

Abstracts must include:

  • Author and co-authors name, email address and affiliation including city and country
  • Title (enter in upper and lower case)
  • Abstract body (no more than 1000 characters including spaces; no images, graphics or charts are accepted)
  • Whether you prefer an oral or poster presentation
  • Ensure that all necessary copyrights or trademarks are preserved and respected.

All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the conference scientific committee. Selection criteria include the quality of the research, relevance to the conference themes, and the potential for generating engaging discussion. Should the abstract be deemed outside the scope, you will receive a notification from the planning team.

Organization

The 50th SBNWM symposium is hosted by Institute of Separative Chemistry of Marcoule (ICSM) and CEA/ISEC (Institut des sciences et technologies pour une économie circulaire des énergies bas carbone) with support of the Chemistry Department of Montpellier University.
